Objectives The objectives of the project management activity are to:·
Description of work The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for
performing the co-ordination activities that are required under the EC
contract: i.e. being the intermediary between the participants and the
EC for all communications including cost statements and deliverables;
and for distributing funding. The PM will be responsible for implementing
systems and processes for tracking and reporting on effort, deliverables
and progress. The PM will keep a track of identified risks to the project
to ensure that problems can be predicted and their impact reduced. The
PM will set agendas for all project meetings including review meetings
and will be responsible for ensuring that minutes are recorded and distributed.
The PM will define and implement document standards and will define and
implement QA processes for project deliverables and published material.
The PM will be responsible for the implementation of a web site supporting
secure access, for the consortium, to definitive versions of documents,
drafts of work in progress, and an email archive. The effort allocations
to participants other than the co-ordinating partner are to cover local
management and contributions to management reporting including the final
report. Deliverables
Milestones and expected result The project review meetings are the major milestones for the project management activity. Effective management will result in a well focused project where the objectives have the best possible chance of being achieved given the environment in which the project will take place and the available resources. Effective management will enable the expectations of all stakeholders to be understood by all those working on the project, and as far as practicably possible it will enable those expectations to be met.
