WP6 - Context awareness subsystem
|
|
Objectives
To design and to develop
the Context awareness subsystem according to specifications agreed in
WP10 (D10.1 System architecture and design document). The subsystem will
apply context modelling to ensure appropriate delivery and interactivity
with e-learning materials. In addition, it will enable users to be aware
of and to modify their context of use. The functionalities of this subsystem
will be documented to be clear to end-users (mobile learner).
Description of work
Description of workThe
work involves the following tasks:·
- Task 6.1 Specification of context parameters:
This will involve field studies of context-bound learning interactions,
to identify the parameters required to support contextual learning,
including location, time, route to location, current activity, intended
activity, learning needs and learning abilities. For each parameter,
we shall propose metrics for assessing its contribution towards context
awareness and learning support.
- Task 6.2 Development of context subsystem:
Drawing on work in user modelling and contextual computing, this
will specify the architecture of the context subsystem. The subsystem
will be modular, to enable testing of each context parameter and its
contribution towards contextual support.
- Task 6.3 Implementation of context subsystem:
The context subsystem will be implemented and tested, initially
for accuracy and usability, then by reference to the metrics specified
in 6.1.
Incrementally improved releases of the subsystem
will be integrated in corresponding MOBIlearn prototypes (WP10) and evaluated
according to WP2. Partner 2 coordinates WP6.
