MOBIlearn Project
Management Board
The project organisation
of the MOBIlearn project is the administrative mechanism to guarantee
a high quality control of the project.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT BOARD
The Project Management Board (PMB), or Project Board (PB), sets the overall
structure and direction of the project and is responsible for resolving
disputes between participants. The PMB is responsible for agreeing any
contract amendments, including changes to the workplan and funding allocations,
with the EC. The PMB is responsible for ensuring that the partners develop
plans for exploiting the project results.
Considering the high number of partners involved in MOBIlearn, in order
to ensure an effective management and guide of the project, the PMB consists
of representatives of partners which are WP Leaders (WPL),
the Project Coordinator (PC) and the Project
Leader (PL). The PMB is completed by invited representatives of partners
to ensure international and multicultural management. The PC chairs the
PMB. The WPL holds senior management responsibility in the organisations
which they represent, and have the authority to make both technical and
administrative decisions. PMB meetings will provide opportunities for
synchronisation and alignment of plans and for the setting of specific
goals. PMB meetings will be held no less frequently than once every three
months, at locations agreed in the Description of Work and reported in
this document.
Project
Coordinator (PC)
The PC, also named as Project Manager or Principal Investigator (in US
projects), guides the partners in creating an environment where co-operative
innovation can occur. The PC is the contact point for the consortium with
the EC and tracks and reports on effort, deliverables and progress. The
PC is responsible for ensuring that partner cost statements are collected,
consolidated and submitted. The PC keeps a track of identified risks to
the project to ensure that problems can be predicted and their impact
reduced. During the project many factors will change; for example, goals
of individual partners, expectations of the EC, or developments in relevant
marketplaces. The PC is responsible for guiding the partners in responding
to these changes in order to ensure the long-term viability of the project
results.
The MOBIlearn PC is Giancarlo Bo.

Technical
Project Leader (PL)
The PL guides the technical developments of the project and is responsible
for decision at specification, development and verification levels, guiding
the technical discussions in the PMB. The strict collaboration with the
PC will ensure a shared view of long-term project results. The strict
collaboration with the PC will ensure a shared view of long-term project
results. The PL is responsible for ensuring that the project's technical
objectives are fulfilled. This will be by the measurement of progress
according to deliverable schedules, milestones reached and assessment
of the project relative to its yardsticks. The PL, with collaboration
with relevant personnel from each partner and WPLs, manages the operational
and technical aspects of the project, subject to decisions of the PMB,
to which it reports via the PC.
The MOBIlearn PL is Giancarlo Bo.
